This mix of reggaeton and pop music did not just draw an interest to this genre but as well to Latin music in general. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs which were Spanish generally, and four tracks in 2016. In 2017, at the height of popularity for Despacito, 19 tracks mainly in Spanish were included in the Billboard Top 100. By 2020 it will have 41 tracks within this genre. Following the time that Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in the year 2017 famous artists started to work with reggaeton artists. Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team on MIA (2018), while Madonna teamed up with Maluma for Medellin, 2019 The year 2000 saw a number of reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at the genre's direction toward the mainstream but a new generation, led by Rauw Alejandro, sought to keep reggaeton evolving. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music as well as other forms.
